The Berkeley Community Fund is pleased to announce that BCF Board Member, Michael Traynor, has received….. The Distinguished Service Award from The American Law Institute.   The American Law Institute gives the Distinguished Service Award from time to time to a member who, over many years, has played a major role in the Institute, accepting significant burdens as an officer or committee chair. Michael, now senior counsel with Cobalt LLP in San Francisco, joined ALI in 1972 and became a member of its Council in 1985. He has served continuously and with dedication as an ALI officer since 1993, most significantly as President from 2000 to 2008.

During his tenure as President of ALI and after, Michael also made time to serve as a dedicated Berkeley Community Fund Board member.  He has been on the BCF Board since 2005 and his fellow Board members are proud to congratulate him for receiving the ALI’s Distinguished Service Award.
