Figuring out where I’m headed and thinking about the future has been the outcome of being able to understand the smaller parts of being a bicultural Mexican American young woman student. My goal of earning a higher education is to wrap up every paper I’ve written, every minute I’ve sat to listen to instructions, all the times I have fought for my family and community. Graduating as an educator or attorney will help me clear my path from unnecessary obstacles so I can contribute even more and demonstrate a progressive future.

“Itzel brings to your program, rich life experiences as well as a poise and drive that are unparalleled by few. She is an excellent role model to her peers and posses a level of integrity and resiliency well beyond her years. She exemplifies truly the best of our youth and your support in her endeavor to continue her education would be an investment  not only in the future, but in supporting our communities in need; as wherever she goes, Itzel strives to make a difference and support those in need.”
