Omar is passionate about helping kids succeed. He has tutored elementary students in math in various programs, including at the Multicultural Institute. He also was a member of Berkeley High’s ALANA (African, Latino, Asian, and Native American) club, which brings together minority groups to serve the community. Omar, who came from Mexico when he was 9, will be the first in his family to attend college. His goals are to become a mechanical engineer and to work on projects that benefit the environment.
