I was born into a Tibetan family in exile, and have experienced an unusual life in this world. I want to go to college and learn about the situations that the school does not teach, such as the situation in Tibet. I want to work with matters that do not receive attention from the world. . . . I need financial help since my family cannot afford to send me to further my education. The facts about my life make me who I am today, due to the suffering and obstacles that I have faced. In high school, I learned the meaning of life, and how to be independent because there is nobody in my family that has experienced high school or college life.
“Tenzin has a complete set of skills that will assure her success regardless of her environment. Tenzin is one of the few students that I have come across who thrives under the challenges that she encounter. I admire her work ethic and desire to succeed and this characteristic rubs off on other students whom come in contact with her. Even her classmates know they can count on Tenzin for help or assistance.”
