Growing up in a single parent, low income household is not easy. From the time my parents divorce, I had to step in and take on heavy responsibilities in order to help my mom with the extra load. So, at the age of nine I became accustomed to much more responsibility than most nine year old children have. My father was gone, so I assume the role of a second caretaker for my two younger brothers, who were one and six at the time. However, I have learned to sculpt painful experiences into something to learn from, and it has made me a stronger person.
